Emergency Loans
Emergency Loans are short-term loans that must be repaid by the scheduled due date(s).
Loan Types:
- Textbook Loan is a short-term loan to pay for textbooks.
- Tuition & Fee Loan is a short-term loan to pay for current semester Tuition & Fees.
Student is responsible for 100% of tuition and fees if Emergency Loan Funds are not available.
Application Process:
- Review all Emergency Loan details for Textbook Loans and/or Tuition & Fee Loans
- Be ready with your 25% down-payment (only for Tuition & Fee Loans)
- Acceptable forms of payment: Credit Card and Checks
- Fill out the online Emergency Loan Request. The form is only available during open enrollment periods. Requests will be screened for eligibility.
- Wait for Approval/Denial; Emailed to the STC student email.
- Complete the Emergency Loan Application & Promissory Note (online via JagNet)
- Pay the 25% down-payment (required to complete application processing; only for Tuition & Fee Loans)
Emergency Textbook Loans
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be registered for a minimum of 3 credit hours.
- Current term needs to be:
- Paid in full or,
- Enrolled in an Installment Plan or Emergency Tuition & Fee Loan or,

Financial aid doesn’t cover a book allowance. If partial financial aid has been awarded, the student may qualify for the difference.
Textbook Loan Amounts (based on credit hours per Financial Aid website):

Emergency Tuition and Fee Loans
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be registered for a minimum of 3 credit hours.
- Complete the Emergency Loan Application and Promissory Note.
- Initial down payment is due at the time of application. Percentage due is based on:
- Tuition and fees and/or "A" fees, nursing related fees and exams plus
- Other non-deferrable fees
Attention: Minimester payment is due by 1st class-day. To guarantee your schedule, you must apply for the Emergency Loan by the payment deadline; payment deadlines vary by course.
